1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website soundslikeyou.co and all services offered through it (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Imperial E-commerce B.V., a private limited company incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands, with its registered office at Bolensteinpad 14, 1384GM Weesp, The Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) under number 91105536 (hereinafter referred to as "SoundsLikeYou", "we", "us", or "our").
By placing an order, submitting the intake form, or otherwise using the Service, you ("Customer", "you", or "your") confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must refrain from using the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Imperial E-commerce B.V. and are governed by Dutch law, with due regard for applicable European Union consumer protection legislation.
2. Description of the Service
SoundsLikeYou creates personalised, AI-assisted songs tailored to a specific person, occasion, or moment as specified by the Customer. Each song is produced using a combination of artificial intelligence tools and human creative oversight, based on the personal information and preferences submitted through our order intake form.
The Service currently offers the following products:

Songs are available in the following languages: English, Dutch (Nederlands), German (Deutsch), Spanish (Español), and French (Français). Prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP). For customers outside the United Kingdom, currency conversion is handled by your payment provider at the prevailing exchange rate.
The Service covers more than 20 occasions, including but not limited to birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, retirements, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, memorials, and company or team songs.
3. Ordering Process
To place an order, you must complete the intake form on our website in full and proceed to payment. By submitting the form and completing payment, you enter into a binding purchase agreement with Imperial E-commerce B.V.
You are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted in the intake form is accurate, complete, and does not infringe upon the rights of any third party. SoundsLikeYou bears no liability for errors in the final product that result from inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information provided by you.
After successful payment, you will receive an order confirmation by email. This confirmation constitutes acknowledgement of your order but does not itself constitute acceptance; acceptance occurs when we begin production of your song.
4. Pricing and Payment
All prices are listed inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Payment is processed securely via Stripe and is accepted by credit or debit card. At this time, Apple Pay and Google Pay are not supported through our checkout.
Full payment is required at the time of ordering. We do not offer instalment plans or deferred payment. Your payment is processed immediately upon submission of the order form.
SoundsLikeYou reserves the right to change its prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed and paid for.
5. Delivery
Standard delivery is completed within 36 hours of order confirmation. If you have selected the Express Delivery add-on, your song will be delivered within 12 hours of order confirmation.
Delivery is made digitally by email to the address you provided during checkout. The email will contain a download link to your personalised song in MP3 format.
Delivery times are estimates and may be subject to delay in exceptional circumstances (such as high order volume, technical disruptions, or force majeure events). In the event of a significant delay, we will notify you by email as soon as reasonably practicable.
6. Digital Nature of the Product and Right of Withdrawal
SoundsLikeYou's products are digital goods that are custom-made to your personal specifications. In accordance with Article 6:230p(f) of the Dutch Civil Code (Burgerlijk Wetboek) and Article 16(c) and (m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the statutory right of withdrawal (hereinafter "cooling-off period") does not apply to:
•Digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium, where performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgement that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal; and
•Goods that are clearly personalised or made to the consumer's specifications.
By placing an order and completing payment, you expressly consent to the immediate commencement of production of your personalised song and acknowledge that you thereby waive your right of withdrawal once production has begun.
If you have placed an order but production has not yet begun, you may request cancellation by contacting us at hello@soundslikeyou.co as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, but cannot guarantee cancellation once the production process has commenced.
7. Revision Policy
We stand behind the quality of our work. If you are not satisfied with your song, you are entitled to one (1) free revision per order. To request a revision, please send an email to revisions@soundslikeyou.co within 7 days of receiving your song, clearly describing what you would like changed.
The free revision covers adjustments to lyrics, tone, vibe, or style based on your original brief. It does not constitute a new order or entitle you to a fundamentally different song concept, change of occasion, or change of language.
Additional revisions beyond the one included may be offered at our discretion and may be subject to an additional fee, which will be communicated to you in advance.
8. Streaming Distribution (Upsell)
Customers who have ordered the Extended + Streaming package will have their song distributed to Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms via our third-party distribution partner (currently DistroKid). Distribution typically takes 2–7 business days after the song has been delivered to you, subject to the processing times of the respective platforms and the distribution service.
Please note the following important conditions regarding streaming distribution:
•You acknowledge that the song will be publicly available on streaming platforms under a title and artist name determined in consultation with you.
•SoundsLikeYou does not guarantee that any particular platform will accept or maintain the song on its catalogue, as this is subject to each platform's own content policies.
•Streaming distribution is a one-time service; ongoing distribution fees (if any) beyond the first year may be the responsibility of the Customer, and we will notify you in advance if this is the case.
•The song distributed to streaming platforms may not contain content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, including copyrighted lyrics or melodies.
9. Intellectual Property
Upon full payment and delivery of your personalised song, SoundsLikeYou grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, share, and distribute the song for personal, non-commercial purposes, including sharing on social media, gifting, and personal enjoyment.
You may not use the song for commercial purposes (including but not limited to advertising, monetised content, synchronisation in commercial productions, or resale) without our prior written consent. If you require a commercial licence, please contact us at hello@soundslikeyou.co to discuss terms.
All underlying intellectual property rights in the AI-generated music, lyrics, production methodology, and brand identity of SoundsLikeYou remain the property of Imperial E-commerce B.V. or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of such rights to you.
10. Customer Responsibilities and Prohibited Use
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
•You are at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian;
•All personal information submitted in the intake form is truthful, accurate, and does not violate the privacy or rights of any third party;
•You will not use the Service to create content that is defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, threatening, hateful, or otherwise unlawful;
•You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, reproduce, or commercially exploit any part of the Service or its outputs without authorisation.
SoundsLikeYou reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order that, in our reasonable judgement, violates these conditions or applicable law. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Imperial E-commerce B.V. processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 and the Dutch Implementation Act (Uitvoeringswet AVG). The personal information you provide — including the name and details of the song recipient — is used solely for the purpose of producing and delivering your order.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with service providers strictly necessary for order fulfilment (such as Stripe for payment processing, Make.com for workflow automation, and DistroKid for streaming distribution where applicable), each of whom is bound by appropriate data processing agreements.

12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Imperial E-commerce B.V. shall not be liable for:
•Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service;
•Errors or dissatisfaction resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you in the intake form;
•Delays in delivery caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to technical failures of third-party platforms, force majeure events, or platform-level content moderation decisions;
•The availability, acceptance, or continued listing of your song on any streaming platform.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific order giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Dutch or EU law.
13. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint about the Service, we encourage you to contact us first at hello@soundslikeyou.co so that we can attempt to resolve the matter amicably. We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 business days.
If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may submit a dispute to the Geschillencommissie (Dutch Disputes Committee) or use the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, accessible at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply in your country of residence under EU law.
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, unless you are a consumer residing in another EU member state, in which case you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
15. Changes to These Terms
SoundsLikeYou reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be published on our website with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We recommend that you review these Terms periodically.
Changes will not apply retroactively to orders that have already been confirmed and paid for prior to the date of the update.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a competent court or authority, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed from these Terms if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
